In the morning, there is a knocking on the door to the lodge shortly after the sun rises.
"I am ready to perform the divination" Ssessibil greets the Unknowns perfunctorily. He sweeps into the lodge and sits crosslegged in the centre of the room. "So, what are your questions?" he asks, looking around at the group.
Milo steps forward in the absence of anyone else, flourishing a piece of paper he'd been making notes on the previous night, which he passes over to Ssessibil. The high priest of Torm studies the paper for a few moments, nods once or twice to himself, and then starts to cast his spell. Closing his eyes, he speaks aloud. "Oh mighty Torm, the Loyal Fury, lend me your guidance as I beseech your answers." As he speaks, he moves his holy symbol in a wide arc with his left hand, as the fingers on his right make sharp jerky motions two and fro, leaving a glowing trail in the air for a moment behind them.
The man's eyes roll up in his head and he goes suddenly stiff, his mouth snapping shut. For a few seconds there is complete silence, then he speaks again.
"Is it truly the cult of the dragon who is behind the sigylls these adventurer's bear?" he asks aloud There is a moment, then he shakes his head silently, indicating no.
"Do the sygils have the power to take complete control over their physical bodies against their will, perhaps a certain key times - such as when they get into close proximity to a sygil owner?" Again, the slight pause, then he shakes his head.
"Should these marked adventurers seek the owners of the symbols?" This time there is a definite nod.
"Should they seek the ones who put them there?" he asks before again nodding. Blondung rolls his eyes, to his mind the answer to that one had been obvious.
"Can the sigylls be removed by any means at our immediate disposal without harming these brave adventurers?" As the group look on in eager anticipation, there is a pause and then he shakes his head.
"Is there anyone else who could remove these sigils, even if only one of them at a time?" There is a pause, then almost comically, Ssessibil's shoulders jerk up and down in an exagerated shrug.
"Are the other owners of the sigils aware of their purpose on these adventurers?" There is a long hesitation, then Ssessibil's head shakes, indicating a negative.
"Are these adventurers expected to kill or harm the owners of these symbols?" There is another long pause, then Ssessibil shrugs again.
"Are these adventurers expected to assist the owners of these symbols?" Ssessibil asks before shaking his head.
OOC: NOT SURE IF THE GROUP AGREED TO ASK ABOUT THE MASK OR NOT - IF THEY DO - then Ssessibil will ask more questions about it - like "what mask?", "Hmmm, interesting, where did you get it?" and similar curiosity satisfying questions etc...
"Does the Mask of Nabanion have anything to do with the sygils on these adventurer's arms?" ANSWER TO BE SUPPLIED IF YOU DECIDE TO TELL HIM ABOUT THE MASK
"Will the tattoos try to control the sigils owner if they come near the bearers of the tattoos?" Ssessibil shakes his head.
"Would any of the other sigil holders willingly help those who afflicted these adventurers?" Ssessibil hesitates for a few moments, then nods.
"Would any of the other sigil holders willingly help these adventurers in disabling the sigylls?" Ssessibil shakes his head.
"Would the deaths of any but not all of these adventurers disrupt the tatoos and their purpose?" Ssessibil shakes his head.
"Would the deaths of all of these adventurers disrupt the tatoos and their purpose?" Ssessibil nods his head having asked an additional question not on the list.
"Would the deaths of any of these adventurers actually help the tatoos and their purpose?" Ssessibil shakes his head.
Having reached the end of the list of questions, Ssessibil hesitates for a few moments, then asks another question. "Are there any timed events that are dependant upon the bearers of these sigylls?" He shakes his head.
He remains silent for a few moments longer, then slowly opens his eyes and looks around the group. "Did that help?" he asks.
Milo stands contemplating the news they had garnered with Ssessibil's help. Looking across at Ceely, and then sweeping his gaze over all of the others, he sighs a deep sigh, as if a decision had been made in his mind, before turning back to face Ssessibil.
"I for one have found the answers useful, if somewhat not what I wanted to hear. It seems the only option open to us all is one that involves great danger, and great sacrifice. I think I need to think more on this myself." Milo scratches his groing beard, and looks over again at Ceely as if to say something, but stops himself. "Thankyou for your help Ssessibil. You have aided us as Torm aided the gods. Will your friends outside mind if I spent some time in the sun today? I have much I need to think on alone."
Those that look at Milo see a worried man, clutching his holy symbol.
Ssessibil nods respectfully to Milo. "Sadly, I need to return to my Tower today - I have important research work I need to return to." He rises to his feet, seeming stiff even though he had been sat on the floor for a relatively short period of time. "Although the Black Lions are a peaceful tribe who have put the more barbaric ways of their past behind them - they do still not tolerate strangers well, and it would be well if the Unknowns were to also leave this place..." He trails off and smiles apologetically, shrugging helplessly.
