He is right to be cautious however, as he quickly finds that his mask DOESN'T
provide him with any sort of immunity to the plant traps in these
rooms. The two rosebushes shimmer and change, and for a moment, he
sees replicas of the two plants on the far side of the room, before
they magically grow at a rapid speed, their tendrils spreading like
manic ivy across the floor and even up the wall to cover most of the
room, extending out even into the corridor, a multitude of other yellow
flowers bursting up out of stalks from the centre. Merrell instinctively
jumps back several steps, but a couple of the newly formed flowers
twist to face towards him, and there is a puff of musky pollen towards
him. (OOC: This is where the DM rolls a saving throw versus spell
- woohoo - success!) The almost sickly sweet scent of the pollen fills
Merrell's head, and the room swims for a moment, only the desirable
yellow flowers of the plant seeming to remain in focus. He takes an
involuntary step forward towards the plant, before he manages to shake
off the effects, and stops himself, backing off further until he is
back with the others - some 15 feet back from the doorway and clear
from the tendrils of ivy like plant that seem to have spread across
the floor.
As Merrell steps cautiously into the
room, he can see that there are potted plants growing in each of the room's four
corners, the closest one being right by the side of the open door next to him.
The two at the far side of the room clearly look rather unusual - small pale mounds
with small tendrils stretching out across the pot and trailing down to just touch
the floor. A single bright yellow flower looking like a large daffodil sticks
out of the top on a two foot stalk. The plant to the immediate right of the door
looks more like a small rose bush with pretty flowers, as does the one on the
far side of the bed in the corner to the left of the door.
