Visiting the Vault of the Sages - (Flamerule 3rd)
As the afternoon waned, the group, now with muscles aching somewhat more than they had in the morning, started to consider breaking up for the day and returning to their base - the Inn of the Wayward Sages. Serena, keen to make a visit to the Vault of the Sages, uses her powers of persuasion to get the others to come with her, and the group, still somewhat hot and sweaty, arrived a short while later at the impressive looking horse shoe shaped stone building holding the huge library.
Leading them to the public galleries on the first floor, Serena starts to browse the broad sheets posted on the walls, reading about the current clack.
OOC: The following link will provide more "general recent history"
for the area - going back a few years as well...

There was a fair amount of coverage about the cessation of the Wizard Weather, commentary on the various theories and even interviews with prominent mages and sages wise in such matters on what was theoretically possible, and what was not. There was one overriding consensus however, in that the re-opening of the trade-route meant that business in the city was picking up again. The inns were fuller, traders had new stock coming in, and generally, the mood of the city was up.
On another sheet, the group spot something which makes them gather round - an article following the movements of the various known adventuring groups operating in the area. The last entry in particular makes them take notice!

* Treants Massing in the High Forest.
"In the aftermath of the downfall of Hellgate Keep last year, a number
of Treant have been gathering in the High Forest. It is believed that despite
the closure of the gates to the Abyss within the ruins of the keep, there still
remains some source of evil within the bowls of the ruins, and various Harper
agents have been dispatched to attempt to determine the cause of their unrest.
Treants, well known for their ability to sense fluctuations in the natural balance,
have long been seen as an early indicator for deep rooted problems, and it is
expected that enquiries will branch out once the Harpers are in the area. It
is understood that the Treants are actively blocking access to the blasted ruins.

* Kheizar Dalan re-discovered!
A little known group, known appropriately as "the Unknowns", have
recently returned to the Gem of the North following their departure on the 25th
Kythorn. Their mission was to seek out the legendary lost dwarf hold of Kheizar
Dalan, vanished for some 2000 years, and only re-discovered by them just over
a ride ago. From initial enquiries, it seems they were successful in their goal
to explore the complex further, as they spent several days in the underground
complex, where they encountered drow and hordes of powerful undead. It is understood
that they have found some interesting and unusual treasures in the complex,
some of which they seem keen to sell. Interested parties can find them at the
Inn of the Wayward Sages.

* Bruenor Battlehammer back in town
The King of Clan Battlehammer of Mithral Hall, returned to Silverymoon
himself this morning from Citadel Adbar, along with a contingency
of dwarves led by a representative of King Harbromm, intending to
lead an expedition to explore Kheizar Dalan. Informed of it's re-discovery
by the Unknowns only a ride earlier, Bruenor Battlehammer had travelled
to Adbar and back again to organise a full dwarven expedition, using
clerical means of transportation to accelerate the process, only to
find that the full exploration appears to have already happened. He
expressed only faint surprise that the adventuring party known as
the Unknowns had already gone ahead and explored the fabled halls
of Mithral Hall alone, and intended to seek them out to discuss the
matter further.
Our reporter will provide an update on this sure to be fiery meeting tomorrow!
