Milo goes to visit the new shrine to Ilmater - (Flamerule 3rd)

Milo, looking for guidance from his god, returns to the room he and Ceely had shared, turning his back on the crumpled sheets to sit in prayer for a few hours. Shortly after the 12th bell sounds faintly outside, there comes a knock at his door, bringing out from his meditation and prayer. One of the inn's staff reminds him of the time, and he rises, preparing himself for his visit to the city hospital, knowing that his powers could be of great use there to help ease the suffering of the poor.

As he walks across the town, his mind travels to Helmer's Wall, where he imagines Ceely is training with her new harpoon. Part of him wonders at the strength of the feelings that he has developed for the woman over the last month, as another part worries about what will happen when he grows old and she remains young still...

Reaching the shrine, Milo meets with a number of people who had come to find some form of solace in the presence of Ilmater. Leading a group in prayer, using healing spells to help where appropriate for those whom natural medicines and normal healing would not work, Milo became more aware of the reasons why most temples were not more free with their healing. The sheer number of people who would require simple healing spells would drain the priests powers too quickly, and if a truly critical need then arose, the priest may well not be able to provide!
Even though it was against his nature, Milo found himself having to say "no" to some people asking for Ilmater's healing. A broken leg here, a cut hand there. Instead, he saved his healing for those for whom it really made a difference between life and death, or for those who were truly suffering in pain.

As the day wanes, it is an exhausted, both mentally and physically who makes his way back towards his temporary accommodation - the Inn of the Wayward Sages.
