Deklan (Flamerule 3rd)

Yvandel and Merrell head off over the invisible Moonbridge to the Lady's College, where they find that the college doesn't work as they had perhaps hoped. Last time, Yvandel and Blondung had been there to join in the examination of the Dragon Cultist's spell book - and Merrell had been taken under the wing of Deklan, the battle mage with the Silver Knights - as he worked to purge the grief from the loss of Arran. This time however, there were no special classes to which they were invited - the college was open to people who wished to study magic, although there was a cost associated with that, and the classes tended to be run in terms, with slow methodical study more important than the sort of rapid ad-hoc sort of advancement that adventurer's tended to gain by their experiences in the field.

Merrell manages to bump into Deklan however, who seems pleased to see the two mages. "Nice to see you again Merrell!" he says, clasping the younger mage by the forearm. "I heard you and the rest of the Unknowns had headed off north a ten-day or so ago." He raises an eyebrow and winks at Yvandel. "Good trip was it?" he asks.

After exchanging pleasantries, the conversation continues on, with the three wizards chatting together about the Lady's College and how both Merrell and Yvandel were interested in learning more, but probably wouldn't be around for more than a couple of days. "It is possible to obtain private lessons" Deklan responds, scratching his chin a moment. "But it is dependant on the good will and availability of the mage in question" he muses. "Wait here" he says briefly, before disappearing into the college. The two waited patiently for a short period, before Deklan reappears. "There is a mage who might be prepared to spends some days with you in intensive study - private classes so to speak" he grins. "But he is a little, err quirky!" Deklan grins again. "Return here tomorrow at the 9th bell, and I'll introduce you."

Before Deklan leaves, Yvandel asked him what "services" were available to purchase from around the town - diviners, sages, etc, and discovered that there is a wide range of these services - varying in price as well... He provides Yvandel with a number of places that they could go to to purchase scrolls and potions as well.
