After Merrell leaves, there seems little more to talk about with Lady Alustriel, and the two of them leave shortly afterwards, following the Lady's instructions to head towards the Lady's College on the other side of the Rauvin. Upon reaching the Moonbridge, they are faced with the impossible vision of what looks like a blinkered horse pulling a cart through mid-air. The owner, holding it's head coaxes it along, as it arcs down towards the road towards them.
Following another local, who simply strides out across the invisible bridge, the two mages tentatively make their way across the bridge, and the continue to the Lady's College.
Passing through the entrance of the unimpressive looking large building, the two men are met by a white bearded man of advanced age, who looks at them carefully. "Come to study? eh?" he asks loudly.
Blondung frowns at the old man. "Lady Alustriel sent us..." he starts to say, but is interrupted by the old man.
"Aye, I know" he says. "Y've come to see about the book ...follow me..." Without saying another word, the quirky old man turns and starts to hobble off down a corridor. Eventually, he stops outside another door. Knocking once, he opens it without waiting, and gestures for the two younger mages to enter.
Inside, a group of mages of varying ages are gathered around a pedestal where the book from the Dragon Cultists is lying open.
A portly mage of middle years waves them in. "Come in! Come in!" he says loudly. "I have just removed the traps, and now we are going through the book looking at the theory of how the traps are best implemented..."
OOC: It is assumed that the rest of this day, and then probably the whole of the next, if not a bit more of a third, will be spent by Blondung and Yvandel studying with the other mages - looking at the spellbook, and some of the theory behind some of the spells etc... I will provide a list of the new spells privately - I will assume that during this time, the desired spells will be copied out to your own spellbooks.)
Near the end of the day, the mage who had been with the Sliver Knights when they first met the party appears, mentioning to them that Merrell had got rather drunk, and that he was sleeping it off here at the Lady's College, so he wouldn't be returning to the inn that night.
As the daylight starts to fade, Blondung and Yvandel say their goodbyes to the wizards of the Lady's College, and make their way back towards the inn. The moon is just in the sky, and as they approach the invisible Moonbridge, they get to see how it got it's name, as it is just about visible, sparkling slightly in the moonlight.
The two of them make their way back to the inn, finding everyone there apart from Merrell of course.
Blondung and Yvandel meet with Merrell at the college, and join a class of other mages in continuing to study the Dragon Cult spellbook. It appears that there are several spells within it's pages that are new to the college that the wizards are pleased to be able to add to their "collection". There are also a large number of the darker spells, that they are pleased to be able to view so as better to understand the necromantic arts, but certainly wouldn't be adding to their personal spell books!
Yvandel asks about getting the staff of illusionary fireballs re-charged. "Re-charging an item is fairly difficult" responds the old man leading the class. "It requires a spell of the sixth order of magnitude to prepare the item ready to receive the spell, then of course the appropriate spells need to be cast into the item. In this case, from your description, I would guess that a Programmed Illusion spell - to provide the necessary sound, heat, visual and olfactory elements would be appropriate." He shakes his head. "Quite an effort for an illusion!" (OOC: Makes me wonder what the DM was thinking in saying that the staff could be recharged!) Seeing the disappointment in Yvandel's face, the old man relents. "Tell you what, I'll prepare the staff ready to receive any illusion spell, and then you can cast your own illusions into the staff..."

The old man grins at the younger mage, amused by his excitement. "I'll take this and get it prepared... start to think about your illusion spells - you can cast them in at the end of the day!" he says.
Yvandel, Blondung and Merrell spend the day with the mages over at the Lady's
College. At the end of the day they return to the inn.
