Balnor's thoughts whilst wandering the streets of Nesme
Balnor wanders the streets - somewhat lost within himself and doubting his own motivation. It is a distant memory that finally turns his feet back towards the Merchant's Hall to meet up with the others. He remembers what happened that night when he was caught red handed by the young woman. When she had first opened the door and found him in her room, his hand in her jewelry box, she had laughed and said he was cute. They had started to flirt a bit, when her father had appeared.
That was when everything started going wrong, and he had been forced to use the girl as a hostage to get out. She had been angry, but more at her father than at him, and her father was the source of the allegation of rape that suddenly made his life in Neverwinter unbearable. Cleo had been someone he could share his troubles with, but now she seemed more interested in getting a new pet than Balnor's problems.
"Women!" he thinks to himself.
Maybe he might not be able to return to Neverwinter - but there was no reason he couldn't start afresh. A new life, somewhere in a city - that would suit him. Nesme seems a bit small, and a bit in the middle of nowhere, but Silverymoon would be a good place to start afresh. The thought filled him with dread, but he could even consider getting a real job, rather than the scavenger life of the thief that he had been forced to live in Neverwinter...
